Hello ASPIRE I plan to be active in the Spring Semester…I’m in Granada Spain :0)…climbed a mountain yesterday to visit a 13th century castle…lovinggggg my time here with all the Spanish culture, food, scenery and language!
Congratulations to Sharline Derosier and Rachelle Bull, 2011-12 recipients of Hearst Scholarships. These awards are reserved for the two senior education majors who have been active in ASPIRE and who have cumulative grade records of 3.5 or higher.
Meeting New Friends
The attendance at the 2011 ASPIRE opening meeting on Thursday, September 8th in Sharp Lab 130 was outstanding! Even though the meeting was moved at the last minute from Gore to Sharp, the ASPIRE community gathered in impressive numbers. More than 80 freshmen and returning students learned about ASPIRE student support services, scholarships, service activities and pre-professional development workshops. ASPIRE President Quindara Lazenbury and Secretary Huong Nguyen, led the session with back-up from Taria Pritchett, former ASPIRE president and Teresita Mariano, former ASPIRE secretary. Members shared ASPIRE experiences, and 32 additional students completed membership forms for the 2011-12 year.
